One mention rate across all your prompts can look healthy while you are missing from the answers that decide a purchase. And being named is not the same as being named first.
By question type
The overview has a By question type table below your competitors.
- One row per intent your prompts use, buying questions first: buying, comparing, problem, learning and brand lookup.
- Each row pools the answers to that type's prompts into one rate with its range, and shows how many of them named nobody you track or had no AI answer.
- A type needs ten answers of its own. One with few prompts can read insufficient data while your overall rate does not.
- It appears once your prompts span two types, on paid plans.
- Prompt tags and the intent picker use the same names now.
Named first
The competitors table has a Named first column: how often each company is the first of the ones you track that an answer names, with its range.
- It counts over the same answers as share of voice, so it starts again when you add a competitor.
- A company you don't track can come earlier in the answer. Named first among yours is a sign of being the first pick, not a recommendation.
- It fills in at your next measurement's close.
The API and the MCP server return both: intents on the visibility read, and firstNamed
on each company. See reading your results.
